More Problems associated with Cartel Client Review
Posted 20 March 2010
Following the news last week that a law firm working for the claims handler was shut down by the legal watchdog, Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), it has now emerged that claims customers could be forced to pay huge legal fees, after a number of cases were lost by the firm. Consumer Credit Litigation Solicitors was shut down by the SRA because of “suspected dishonesty”, however it has just come to light that four test cases taken to Manchester High Court late last year were unsuccessful, and even had costs awarded against them.
A source at Manchester Civil Justice Centre told the financial news site, This Is Money, that Consumer Credit Litigation Solicitors did not have insurance in place to cover it in the event of a failed court case. Now indebted customers who originally turned to the claims handler to get their credit card agreements written off – in exchange for an upfront fee of £495 – could be faced with court fees reaching up to £30,000 each.
Later this month, cases will be held in Manchester to determine whether these costs should be met by the individuals or the solicitors. One legal expert has said that it will be difficult for consumers to get any redress as the firm has already been shut down by the SRA.
If you are an affected consumer we at Bluecygnet strongly suggest using our link with Claims Financial which is no upfront fee at all. If you are like the SRA has said that between 50,000 and 70,000 people have given money to the claims handler, adding that it found files “just piled into boxes” at their offices. THEN CONTACT US ASAP!!
Bluecygnet’s comment; "We never joined the rush to encourage our clients to make any financial compensation claims because we wanted to be sure they were not putting themselves at risk or incurring any extra costs due to upfront charges or excessive greed by the companies acting for them!!"
